Re: Training

Nothing gets the blood flowing faster then a good fight, be it 1 vs 1 or a fleet fight. When i lost my dreadnought my heart was pounding like crazy and i enjoyed the rush. I'll be getting a new one soon \o/ You won't see me in empire much anymore :) Pete, you guys looking for 0.0 space? we might hav...

Re: Question?

I do use it as it helps me monitor the training times.
With 3 characters its helpfull. Also very usefull if you don't know what to train for as you can create plans and such.

Where do you get the idea we are not playing as FF?
Sure, several members left OCFF and went other directions, but OCFF is still FF based..

Re: After 5 years.. the old man gets a new pooter..

ok, thnx for the history lesson, but i fail to see why this should influence the configuration. I assume i will still get the same quality as i would buying a boxed version right?

Re: After 5 years.. the old man gets a new pooter..

Why buy a cooler i'm not using? I do like raid 0, raptor costs to much for its added speed and they are noisy. My case has a lot of fans indeed :) I am aware of the downside of this configuration (the heat) but i trust i'll be able to manage that fine as the case i got has 4 case fans and enough air...

Re: just had another car

my next car is going to be a Mazda 6.

I'm done with french cars to be honoust.
I've had renault, Peugot and Citroen and all of them seemed to be having lots of problems. Citroen is the most luxury but also the most expensive in repairs and boy does it need repairs...

Re: After 5 years.. the old man gets a new pooter..

Ok, just ordered the components. The main reason i chose this configuration is because i want the system to be as silent as possible. Hence the dual passive cooled GFX card which will be put in crossfire mode. A HD3780X2 will be faster but also a lot louder. The mobo is based on the X38 chipset whic...

Re: After 5 years.. the old man gets a new pooter..

The 4Gb is indeed selected to be prepared for whats coming. Considering the price i dont see a reason to stick with 2Gb. If i had to cut costs, i would choose a cheaper GFX card but as it still fits within budget, i might as well go for it. My biggest debate at the moment is the MB. What chipset is ...

Re: After 5 years.. the old man gets a new pooter..

So far i found this combo. I like MSI a lot as i have used that many times. Gigabyte i have bad experience with and i like to keep the mobo and GFX of the same brand. Asus still seems to be a good performer without to many bugs. ASUS P5E WS PRO ( ATX, dual PCI-E x16, multi-core CPU ready, X38) €174,...

Re: After 5 years.. the old man gets a new pooter..

Home build. I recon i can still build a computer myself :)

Also, i did some browsing and discovered my budget (1000 Euro) allows me to purchase something that should be running nice.

So, gents.. Intel Duo core or AMD stuff?
Geforce 9800 or ATI 3870x2?

MSI or Gigabyte?

HELP!!

After 5 years.. the old man gets a new pooter..

As the title says, i am going shopping for something new. Ive been playing on a laptop for over two years but after it fried i went back to my sweety. However, i had to downclock the cpu cause it couldnt handle the load anymore so it runs as a AMD XP2500 + at the moment with a ATI X800 gfx card. It ...

I think its fair to add that i was one of them who helped form the BIT training altho the BIT itself was not my idea. It was so much fun to test ppl as well. My all time favourite was the 2 vs 1 where 2 vets would rape the trainee.. and so many of you thinking you had to win that battle... you shoul...

Rememberance is always good. As former FF CO during our expantion into the big ebil world of online games other then FS2 its been a very interesting ride so far.. What amazes me most is that those who join the ranks of FF seem to stick around one way or another. Not all obviously, but a lot check th...

hayhay You can grab a key for me to Mark. Anything to bring back FS2 (type game) is worth a look  I should read "Anything goes" more often... Count me in as well, anything that revives the days of FS2 and FF has my interest. Playing 1vs1 NWTR on a 14K modem with 500Pings... it owned!
