Fireside Chats with FF-Hobbes

Post by FF-Hobbes » Sat Jul 05, 2008 11:12

amidst a warmly colored room, lit by a single reading lamp and a cackling fireplace, Hobbes looks up through the wafting smoke of a Cohiba and marks his page in the book he was reading

Ah, hello friends, How are you today?

He shifts a little in a thickly padded chair

I just thought I'd stop in briefly and catch up with you some. As you know, I don't stop in too much. But you're never far from my thoughts, so I decided to share a bit of whats new in my life with you.

As some of you have heard, for the last year I've been dating a wonderful girl (who is not the girl I used to be dating, like I said, she is wonderful). I am currently embroiled in moving from Guam to Virginia. Very exciting. My new job will ential lots of travel, so perhaps I will keep pictures updated. But we shall see.

But speaking of travel and my new girlfriend, the most exciting thing that's happened recently is that I am now moored at Kos Island in the Dodecanelles on her family's 38ft Cheoy Lee sailing Yacht Tir na n'Og, where I have been enjoying warm beaches, cool wine, cold beer, and thousands of years of maritime history beneath my feet and keel.

Aww, life is good. Makes this tiger purr.

He takes a long draught of the Cohiba and pours himself a glass of dark wine

So, please fill me in on what's new with you...

with that, he settles back into his chair for the long haul, comforted by wine, woman, a cuban cigar, and of course, the fact that when he gets up and leaves, he will be in sun drenched Greece next to the wine-dark sea.

Wow, I really need to check in more than once a year. Damn.

But in any case, I thought I'd stop by and give everyone an update on why I haven't been playing any video games online lately.

Here's a few pics:

Eventually I might land a day or two in London, Frankfurt, or Amsterdam, but so far, I've only managed Istanbul and Paris :(

But I got my fingers crossed I can join you or some other hapless FF'r for a pint one day.

Well, it's official. Amsterdam is my new favorite airport.

And from what I could see out the window, what a beautiful city! Now, like London, I only wish I had more than 2 hours there to give me a chance to appreciate it :( Maybe next time guys.
