Star Citizen

Chris Roberts is back!

He's at least a few years out, but it brought a big smile to my face knowning he's working on a project like this. And especially seeing some clues that suggest this is going to take place in the Wing Commander universe!

I've put in a few bucks - if Chris Roberts can't work his magic revitalizing this genre, no one can.

In two years time, everyone, we'll have a space sim on our hands again. Start your watches........now.

Hey all,

Just update on this project - looks like they're going to hit their target for $4mil in a few days, meaning the full game plus free modding tools.

IGN has an article on one of the ships tied to the $250 plege, the RSI Constellation. Check it out - http://www.ign.com/articles/2012/11/15/ ... 9636000023.

If you haven't pledged, definitely consider doing so. I have hope in Chris Roberts and team giving us a proper space sim :).

4Mil achieved yesterday (I put in my pledge, FF-Hobbes will fly again!), now the reach is 4.5, and it sounds like Chris Roberts is running out of ideas to throw towards all the money we're giving him. There's a shit-ton of excitement out there for this game.

They just hit $5Mil, which is the condition that "they bring one favorate from Wing Commander back for voice acting" - I would imagine it's almost assuredly Mark Hamill.

Shit, they hit 5.5 while I was asleep- that means the Bengal class is playable. Would it be weird for Hobbes to fly from a Bengal?

It would seem he's hosting live screenings of the development process. Very cool!

Final tally is in: over $6Mil in pledges. That means all stretch goals hit, plus a new record for a crowd sourced game.

Pretty damn amazing. Seems like Chris and team have been given the full blessing of the space sim community to give us a fucking great game.

I've negotiated an alliance already for Star Citizen. The Black Wolves (from MWO), are putting together a substantial fleet it sounds like. I'm not sure how much interest we'll have but we could stand fly alongside them I feel.

Nice!!!!!

Dude...I found the BDHR folk talking about Star Citizen. I was wondering if the Freedom Fighters would be willing to renew our old FS2 alliance with them?

I have a really, really good feeling we will see a *ton* of old faces and squads in this game. I mean, how could we not? This is going to be THE premier space sim in over a decade, lead by the grandfather of space sims.

I'm not only excited for this game, but for this game revitalizing all of those old alliances and rivalries alike :).
