New website data needed from Co's please.

Post by FF-Cernunnos » Sat Dec 13, 2003 18:58

I need the following data from all divisional CO's as soon as possible please as we are hoping to have a new website up and running by the end of next week.

If you dont send me the data or post the data here then your team will end up with an inferior webpage and you'll have only yourselves to blame.

So I need....

1. The clan names of Divisional CO's and XO's.
2. A list of the leagues that Divisions play in.
3. Links to the webpages of those leagues.
4. A contact e-mail for the division.
5. A description of the game you play and a short introduction about the division.

For those that dont understand what I mean the next post contains the data I have for the MTW division.

Note to Mike: I dont need a description from you as Hammer did one a few months ago.

P.S. No spam please.

Day Of Defeat: Prepare to become entrenched in battle. Day of Defeat includes an expansive collection of missions based on key historical WWII battles and a huge number of additional downloadable missions. Each team has several player classes, which give each squad member a unique role, including scout, infantry, sergeant, machine gunner and more. As war rages, you and your squad must battle as a unit using a unique arsenal of historical weapons to achieve victory.

Day of Defeat (DoD) has gone through many changes since its introduction into the Freedom Fighters plethora of games in the summer of 02'. The division has undergone several command changes, game revisions and the dreaded introduction of "STEAM". Previously headed by FF-Nemesis, FF-DarkDog and FF-Hobbes the division has approximately 10 players and is now in the capable hands of FF-Fubar.

Also from Hammer.

Counter-Strike is a modification for the popular game Half-Life which can be download for free from the internet. Counter-Strike is now the most played online FPS game in the world and has developed a huge following. The game pits Terrorists against Counter-Terrorists and takes place in a number of different locations from dusty arenas to snowy landscapes. There are currently three modes of play: Bomb, Hostage & Assassination.

The Freedom Fighters clan first initiated a Counter-Strike Division around the time of Version 1.3. At that time most of the players in the division were pilots from either MW4 or Freespace2. During this time we started to get a bit more serious than just a group of friends meeting up on publics servers.

The Division entered its first Ladder league but there was a problem....we needed a server!!!! FF -Goose hosted the original home of the division and created a 14 man server located in Denmark. After its creation the division started to move upwards at a rate of speed.

Initially establishing itself in the EnemyDown Ladder, the division has entered many other ladders, leagues and cups, with mixed success. Currently in the Division 1 of Enemy Down we are always striving to better ourselves and to carry the name of FF into the huge online world of Counter-Stike!!!

Freespace 2, the award winning sim of the year '99 is a superb space opera of epic proportions. The strong emphasis on plot development combined with spectacular graphics and story-based missions make Freespace 2 the best space sim ever made, even after 4 years.

It takes place in the year 2367, 32 years after the Great War, where the imposing forces of the Shivans have surfaced again, threatening the survival of the Terrans and the Vasudans.

Pilot up to 15 Ships with deadly weapons, destroy Huge Capital ships, guard transports, fly recon missions and guard your life. Back in black and bigger than ever, Freespace 2 is just about everything you'd want in a hard-core 3D space combat sim.

The Multiplayer game, played on PXO's online hub, offers an intense competition in either Team versus Team, Co-operative or Free for all modes with up to 12 players per game.

The Freedom Fighters have been involved with Freespace 2 since 1999; indeed it is the reason the clan exists. Freedom Fighters are extremely well respected within the Freespace 2 online community and the division has always competed at the highest level. With countless victories amongst the stars we always stive to be honourable in our quest for domination. Always valliant we fight for freedom.

Do you have what it takes to be a Freedom Fighter?

For all Leagues the game division are in I'm gonna need an introductionary text explaining the League and the achievements of FF in this league (if anything noteworthy)

As an example here are the texts for FS2 & War3 written by Nopi

Squadwar
Squadwars are the original Freespace 2 league in which the best pilots from around the world gathered to fight for domination of the galaxy. You not only need pure fighting skills but also strategical thinking to be successful here. Squadwars consists of three different leagues in which squads can compete; Europe, North America and World. The Freedom Fighters are one of the 3 remaining powerful squads in Squadwars and currently dominates the World League and is 2nd in the North American League.

Freespace Teamwars
Teamwars is a newly created way to play Freespace 2 and aims to help keep the game alive. The competition is based on group stages follwed by a knockout system. The ideal behind Teamwars is to have good clean matches and a lot of fun while still having a winner in the end. Matches are only played 2v2 and team-mates donÂ’t neccessarily have to be part of the same squad. The 1st round of TW was finished in December 2003 with the Freedom Fighters, though only fielding 2 teams, reaching a spectacular 1st and 3rd place.

Battlenet Northrend Ladder
Battle.net offers 7 different ladders and tournaments (tournaments only for The Frozen Throne) for all players. There are ladders for Solo, Random Team, Arranged Team 2v2, 3v3, 4v4 and Free For All games. Players start at level 1 in each ladder and for each win they gain experience; the more experience players have the better is their level. If the enemy is of a higher level wins count for more points while beating lower level enemies gives less. In the same way losing to higher level player doesnÂ’t cost as much experience as losing to same level and losing to a weaker players costs more points. The maximum difference allowed between 2 players is 6 levels. The best 1000 players enter a ladder with rankings in each game type.

I'm gonna need the following:

CS: Enemy Down
CS: ClanBase
MTW: Clan War Belt
MTW: Clan War Competition
COD: Team Warfare League

CS: Enemydown

The Freedom Fighters first joined this UK 5v5 ladder style league in 2001 and have played in it ever since. We have played over 100 matches within Enemydown with mixed success. The Clan's main achievement to date is that having started in the lowest division it has worked its way up to the Premier Division. However, due to inactivity we have recently been relegatated to the 1st Division.
CS: Clanbase

After a few months playing in the Enemydown Ladder we decided to look at other leagues/ladders for new challenges. Clanbase is one of the largest multi-gaming communities in Europe and caters for many games and nations. The Counter-Strike Division entered the UK 5's ladder and was also entered into the UK & Eire Community Cup; which pitched us against some of the top clans in the country. Although currently inactive in the Clanbase ladder the Freedom Fighters will be looking to rejoin the fray very soon.

Herman its looking good. But as the FS2, CS and WC3 pages have 2 piccies can we make it so that MTW and COD also have 2 aswell?

Just doesnt look as good with only one pic imho mate.

The rest is spectacular!

Also is it possible to move the command tree over but make it look fancier? Its good for an easy reference for new members who dont know who they are dealing with to have the visual tree I think.

I may re-write the introduction a bit...I say may because I'm not sure if it actually needs changing...what do you and James think?

I've made a lot of changes to the league desriptions and I also noticed two changes to be made in the main CS text...the CS ones are marked in orange mate. Can you change the webby text to reflect this please.

Finally a note to all those who have had input here. I hope you dont mind me and Herman making changes to the text that you have written for us...we are simply trying to make the web pages as good as they can be. You've all done a wonderful job getting this stuff down so quickly so many thanks to all involved and a huge thank you to James, Herman and Goose for doing the design, creation and hosting work.

I think these 3 are'nt recognised nearly enough for the hard work they consistently do for us and when I post that the web page is open, if I may have that honour for I have more to say, I expect you all to fall at their feet in gratitude.
